Helen
Tyrrell is Irish and has lived
and worked in Belgium for the past 12 years.
She created KOMMUNART.com in 2003. “Kommunart
is all about producing accessible art for people
who appreciate individuality and creativity”.
To
date Kommunart has focused mainly on commissioned
portraiture, but has recently produced a new
collection of Belgium-inspired art especially
for the Brussels Accessible Art Fair 2007. This
collection entitled “Reasons to be Cheerful”
depicts some of Helen’s favourite elements
of life in Brussels which she says invoke the
essence of the city.
