Alan Mitchell

Born 1964 in Liverpool, England, Alan Mitchell studied art at the Central School of Art and Design in London (Central/St. Martins). He taught art in the UK and Malta before coming to Belgium to teach at St. John’s International School in 1996.  He has taken part in several individual and groups exhibitions and has organised several exhibitions himself. Alan is also an examiner for International Baccalaureate Organisation and is currently serving on the visual arts committee for the European Council of International Schools. Of his work in oils and acrylic, Alan says he explores the dichotomy between realities and illusions through various pictorial devices and trompe l' oeil techniques.
