Freelance art director and graphic designer, Marcel Ceuppens takes inspiration from mid-century art, design and architecture. Based in Belgium, his clients are mostly Belgian advertising agencies. He began creating economic, highly conceptual digital paintings, “because they gave me the freedom to do whatever I want, and whatever I feel like.” Marcel’s protagonist–his “everyman”–appears solo or with cookie cuter duplicity throughout hs paintings. The protagonist appears detached; he is faceless and nonemotive but we empathize with him nonetheless.
