Kate James is a young artist from Northern Ireland currently living in Italy . She works full-time as a graphic designer. She completed a Masters Degree in Creative Advertising at the Dublin Institute of Technology, Ireland in 2002.

Kate's paintings are all oil on canvas They are painted to give a feeling of well-being, based on the psychology of colour, to the person who is looking at them. In order to achieve richness and depth of colour, many many layers of almost transparent paint are built up. Kate paints a variety of different subjects, from still life, to landscapes, to portraits. She is inspired by the colours and quirkiness of everyday life, and likes to portray happiness and tranquillity in her work.

Kate has been exhibiting in Ireland and Belgium for the last seven years, and many of her paintings have been bought by individual collectors.
