Herman Thielens was born in 1946 in Sint-Gilles, Belgium and lives in Hulst, the Netherlands. He seeks to explore form, colour, impressions in order to create a new view on objects in line with the methods from old masters such as Vermeer and Caravaggio. In his current work he predominantly paints still life compositions that attract in form, colour and structure. His work is often described as stylistic expression.
