THE SPRING SALON CONCEPT
Originally the name of the official art exhibitions organised by the French Royal Academy of Painting and Sculpture (Académie Royale de Peinture et de Sculpture) and its successor the Academy of Fine Arts (Académie des Beaux Arts). From 1725 the exhibitions were held in the room called the salon carré in the Louvre and became known simply as the salon. By the mid nineteenth century the academies had become highly conservative, and by their monopoly of major exhibitions resisted the rising tide of innovation in naturalism, realism, impressionism and their successors. AN OLD WAY TO SHOW ART
In April 2018, during Art Brussels, we are bringing the concept of Salon de Printemps (Spring Salon) to Brussels.
We'll be holding this unique event at the Ancienne Nonciature in Sablon.
HOW WILL WE IMPLEMENT THE SALON CONCEPT TO OUR SPRING SALON?
Our curator will help you choose up to three works to display ( max dimensions of each work 1.5 meters X 1.5 meters per work / 3 works in total)
We take care of the hanging.
Artists should be present to discuss their work with the public.
Picked by a special curator
Special time of the year during Art Brussels. It will take place during one of the most important art weeks on Brussels scene.
SMALL. INTIMATE. BUT WITH WIDE REACH
We'll be using ACAF communication channels, press, data base and social media to promote the event.
